Recently two new tiger reserves, SrIvilliputhur- Megamalai Tiger Reserve and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve have been established in India. Discuss the eventual developments and benefits associated with this move.
The addition of two new reserves has brought the total number of Tiger reserves in the country to 52.
Significance of the recent move:
- The obvious benefits of declaring new tiger reserves are increased allocation of funds, technology and personnel for protecting the tiger.
- The National Tiger Conservation Authority guidelines for effective implementation of Project Tiger will be seriously taken up by the new reserves.
- Those state governments will implement their Tiger Conservation Plan
