As these resources become scarce, competition for them will likely lead to political or even violent confrontations. However, conflicts rooted in resource scarcity are rarely direct or openly acknowledged. Instead, they are often masked behind more acceptable narratives, such as disputes over identity or ideology—like in the case of water conflicts.
