As per the latest research, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) can increase the risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS).

Multiple Sclerosis:

·        It is a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves.

·        In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body.

·        Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage or deterioration of the nerve fibers.

There are many possible causes of MS, including:

·        Autoimmune disorders;

·        Infectious agents, such as viruses;

·        Environmental factors;

·        Genetic factors;

Signs and symptoms:

·        It vary widely between patients and depend on the location and severity of nerve fiber damage in the central nevous system.

·        Some people have mild symptoms, such as blurred vision and numbness, and tingling in the limbs.

·        In severe cases, a person may experience paralysis, vision loss, and mobility problems.

There''s no cure for multiple sclerosis. However, there are treatments to help speed the recovery from attacks, modify the course of the disease and manage symptoms.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)

·        It is one of the most common human viruses in the world.

·        It spreads through bodily fluids, especially saliva (spit).

·        Symptoms: Fatigue, fever, inflamed throat, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, enlarged spleen, swollen liver, rash.

·        EBV can cause infectious mononucleosis, also called mono, and other illnesses.

·        There is no vaccine to protect against EBV infection.

Gasohol is a mixture of one part ethanol (commonly known as grain alcohol” or beverage alcohol) and nine parts unleaded gasoline. The alcohol which is blended in gasohol is not taken from petroleum, natural gas, or coal. The alcohol which is to be blended in gasoline has to be produced from renewable biomass. Hence, the ethanol which is used in gasohol is often obtained by fermenting crops or crop waste. Sometimes even methanol or wood alcohol is also used.

Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis

This is the process by which the molecules of a solvent pass through the semi-permeable membrane from a region of lower concentration to a higher concentration.

This is the process by which the molecules of a solvent pass through the semi-permeable from a region of higher concentration to lower concentration when pressure greater than the osmotic pressure is applied.

It is a natural process.

It is an artificial process.

Occurs along the potential gradient.

Occurs against the potential gradient.

This is observed during the opening of stomata and absorption of water from the soil by the roots.

This is used in water purification systems.

In its Financial Stability Report (FSR) for June 2023, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) projected a further decrease in the country''s gross non-performing assets (GNPA) for scheduled commercial banks. The GNPA, which reached a 10-year low of 3.9% in March 2023, is expected to decrease to 3.6% by March 2024. The report also highlighted the strengthening of banking and corporate sector balance sheets, with sustained growth in bank credit and low levels of non-performing assets. FSR assesses the overall stability and health of the country''s financial sector.

NPAs refer to loans and advances that have stopped generating income for the lender, usually due to default or non-payment by the borrower. GNPAs are the sum of all the loans that have been defaulted by the individuals who have acquired loans from the financial institution.

As we know that ''''V'' is directly proportional to ''T'' at constant P (Charle ''s Law)

Let V1 (original volume) = V , V2 (volume after compression) = V / 2 ; T2 = 300 K (27° C)

Therefore, T1 will be (V1T2) / V2 , = V × 300/(V/2) = 2 × 300

 T1 = 600 K (327° C)

It submits its report to the President, who then lays it before each House of Parliament, and send it to all the State Governments.

• The Committee of Parliament on Official Language was set up in 1976 under Section 4 of The Official Languages Act, 1963.  Section 4 states that there shall be a Committee on Official language, whose resolution shall be moved in either House of Parliament with the previous sanction of the President and passed by both Houses.

• The Committee reviews the progress made in the use of Hindi for official purposes, and make recommendations to increase the use of Hindi in official communications.

• The Official Languages Act, 1963 (OLA 1963) provides for 30 members- 20 MPs from Lok Sabha and 10 from Rajya Sabha.

• Unlike the other Parliamentary panels, this Committee is constituted by the Home Ministry and it does not submit its report to Parliament.

Hydrogen sulphide can corrode metals such as iron, steel, copper, and brass, tarnish silverware, discolour copper and brass utensils, cause yellow or black stains on fixtures and alter the appearance and taste of cooked foods.

Properties of Hydrogen sulphide

o  Hydrogen sulphide is often generated from the microbial breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen gas, such as in swamps and sewers.

o  This process is commonly called anaerobic digestion which is done by sulphate-reducing microorganisms.

o  H2S also generates in volcanic gases, natural gas, and in some sources of well water.

o  The human body generates small amounts of H2S and uses it as a signaling molecule.

· Copper when exposed to air turns green in colour due to corrosion. When copper vessel is exposed to air in rainy season, the metal reacts with gases, moisture and atmospheric gases to form a mixture of copper carbonate and copper hydroxide. This gives a green colour to the surface of copper metal.

In the absence of air resistance, all objects fall at the same rate regardless of their mass. This is one of the fundamental principles of free fall and was famously demonstrated by Galileo. Therefore, assuming that air resistance acting on the balls is the same, both ball A and ball B will reach the ground at the same time, assuming no other forces are acting on them.

Both balls A and B will reach the ground at the same time. Because both balls are thrown from the equal height of 20metre.

Thus, h = 20m Initial velocity u = 0

speed equation (for gravitational velocity) V2 = u2 + 2gh [ V→ final velocity] here, V2 = 2gh ( u = 0) or

Since the height of both balls are equal (h = 20) and the formula of final velocity (V =) is not dependent on the mass of the balls. Thus, both the balls will reach the groundat the same time.

24.

Gravity is, by far, the weakest of the four fundamental forces of nature. By one measure, gravity is a thousand billion billion times weaker than the strong nuclear force, the strongest of all the forces.

In an atom there are three fundamental forces that keep atoms together. electromagnetic force, strong nuclear force, and weak nuclear force. The electromagnetic force keeps the electrons attached to the atom. The strong nuclear force keeps the protons and neutrons together in the nucleus.
