1. (c) India’s Ballistic Missile Shield (BMD) is an indigenously developed interceptor missile. The BMD is being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as a two layered system to tackle incoming targets at endo and exo atmospheres. Recently, the missile successfully destroyed an incoming ballistic missile in a direct hit, demonstrating the capability of India’s Ballistic Missile Shield (BMD), which is under development.

(c) In a move which is one more step towards creating a just and equitable society, President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the Assam Witch Hunting (Prohibition,Prevention and Protection) Bill, 2015, converting it to an Act. The Assam Assembly on August 13, 2015, had unanimously passed a Bill, which imposes imprisonment of up to seven years, along with a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh, for branding someone as a witch. This Bill has now become an Act.

Falcon 9 delivers payloads to space aboard the Dragon spacecraft or inside a composite fairing. Falcon 9 made history in 2012 when it delivered Dragon into the correct orbit for rendezvous with the International Space Station, making SpaceX the first commercial company ever to visit the station. Falcon 9, along with the Dragon spacecraft, was designed from the outset to deliver humans into space and under an agreement with NASA, SpaceX is actively working toward that goal.
